SQLServerVideos.com: A Great Resource for Devs who work with SQL Server

Mike Campbell is a very smart guy with a great sense of humor. If you hang out on some of the ASP forums, you may know his AngryPets website or his company, OverAchiever production. He always makes me laugh but I also have learned quite a lot from him over the years. In addition to being very accomplished with ASP.NET, Mike is extremely knowledgable about SQL Server. He has gotten me out of a rut with SQL Server more than once!

Mike's latest venture, begun last March, is SQLServerVideos.com, where he provides concise video tutorials on various SQL Server topics that are valuable for developers.
How many times have you tried to figure out how to compress your database? I actually have an email tucked away that someone sent me a few years ago which I dig up when I need to perform this task. His 12 minute video, Shrinking SQL Server Log Files, actually gave me a much better understanding about how log files work, why the grow and how I can use SQL Server commands to get a better idea of what's going on with the log files.

Throughout the videos, he has handy references to other resources, so you can just stop the video if you want, and go pull up that resource while you are learning.

Mike has created these videos out of the goodness of his heart. Thery are all free to watch or download with no catch or gimmicks. They are extremely professional and a pleasure to watch and learn from. He does have spots on his website for would-be advertisers, but that is clearly secondary to what he is doing here.

So if you are, like me, a developer who does not have a DBA to rely on and patience that only exists in short bursts of time, I highly recommend SQLServerVideos.com.
