Microsoft's LANG.NET Symposium - videos available online

At the end of January, Microsoft presented a 3 day symposium on programming languages. If you have been keeping up, you know they continue to expand their core .NET languages as well as move into the arena of dynamic languages. The symposium wasn't just about their own languages, but looked beyond as well.

Just looking at the agenda is a good reminder of the huge variety : C# and VB of course, DLR, Volta, IronRuby, PHP, Java based languages, F#.

Bill McCarthy has begun watching the videos and has written his thoughts in his blog post "Videos from Lang.NET" on the following four that he as seen so far:

  1. Microsoft's Paul Vick on VB.NEXT

  2. Microsoft's Don Box and Chris Anderson on Modelling and Languages

  3. Stefan Wenig and Fabian Schmied of Rubicon on remotion Mixins (I had never even heard of remotion before)

  4. Microsoft's Erik Meier on Volta
