Visual Studio 2008 "on metal"

Over the weekend, I installed VS2008 Beta 2 directly on my development machine. No more VPCs for me! (Until we start getting VS.Next pushed our way in this never ending cycle!)

I am pretty paranoid about doing stuff like this because this is not a computer that I want to repave (i.e.. reformat and install everything fresh), but after talking to a number of people, I had the confidence to do it.

One thing that is very apparent is that the compile time performance is vastly greater and the debugger doesn't take forever to kick in. [Insert stale joke about not really needing to debug because code is perfect on first pass here.]
This also means that I have installed entity Framework Beta 2 and the Tools CTP directly onto my computer as well.

Next up will be my laptop, which I use for travelling and presenting. It will make a big difference when presenting so much on VS2008 (and dependent technologies).
