April Fool's Fun
|
Here are some of the silly things about .NET and related topics posted on April Fool's day by : Breaking News! AdventureWorks abandoned for Katmai in favor of Northwind, pubs and... Team Suite Vnext will be FREE (but ad supported) Google, of course was at it again with Virgile: "Earth has issues, and it's time humanity got started on a Plan B. So, starting in 2014, Virgin founder Richard Branson and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin will be leading hundreds of users on one of the grandest adventures in human history: Project Virgle, the first permanent human colony on Mars." People are still scratching their heads about Microsoft's press relese about Office Open XML getting approved as an ISO standard. Was it real or an April Fool's joke? ISO waited until today to release their press release about it so there would be no confusion. The last time Microsoft claimed to have invented an April Fool's Day joke was as an excuse for the ILoo, even though it was announced in early May of 2003, not on April 1st. I'm still fond of the gag that a few of us Visual Basic MVPs created a few years ago, about Microsoft filing a patent for the word "The" in order to make more complete sentences with VIsual Basic code. It was a group effort with some very creative input writing this press release with some quotes that still make me laugh out loud. There's also always the evil BSOD ScreenSaveryou could use to play jokes on your fellow office mates. What are your favorite April Fool's geek jokes? |
