You can do THAT in Silverlight?

Okay so I am not a gamer. I don't play them and don't write them. I have seen a few, over the shoulders of my friends' kids. Almost forgot that I did play an XBOX game once for about 5 minutes. Even so, I was stunned by this video showing a very intensive 3D game that is being written in Silverlight.

It's called QuakeLight and it's a port of what I assume is a popular game, Quake.

The program is not available yet, but Adam Kinney got a preview and captured it on his screen.

Those who know something about game programming have apparently been in disbelief that the video is real and moreso that the creator, Julien Frelat, did not lean on existing 3D engines to do it. It's all C# and Silverlight.

Adam has interviewed Julien and you can learn more detail about the project by reading this interview on Adam's blog post: QuakeLight, the Silverlight port of Quake, is coming...
